Cascade Lakes is a chain of high-elevation lakes in central Oregon on the east side of the Cascade Range along the Deschutes River in Deschutes National Forest. Beginning west of Mount Bachelor and extending south past a long series of named lakes, it includes twelve lakes and two reservoirs within a larger lake country of more than one hundred fifty lakes. The area is commonly reached by the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, also called Century Drive and Forest Service Road 46, in warmer months. Known for fishing, hiking, rustic resorts, and access to the Three Sisters Wilderness, it also serves snowmobile travel when winter snow closes the road.
