Eldorado Mountain
Nature
Eldorado Mountain is an 8,344-foot summit on Colorado’s Front Range near Boulder, spanning Boulder and Jefferson counties and rising steeply above Eldorado Canyon. Much of the mountain is public land, but the City of Boulder owns the summit, restricts access, and provides no public trail to the top. Its slopes hold a dense mix of natural features and human uses, including Mickey Mouse Wall, the remains of the Conda Quarry, and an antenna field. Along the north flank are the ruins of the Crags Hotel, major rail and water infrastructure, climbing cliffs such as the Bastille, and trails created from earlier transportation routes.
