Walker Lake State Recreation Area was a Nevada recreation site on the southwest shore of Walker Lake in the Great Basin north of Hawthorne along U.S. Route 95. Once protected as a state park, it offered basic lakeside access with a boat launch and picnic tables. The site is now managed by the Bureau of Land Management as part of the broader Walker Lake Recreation Area, which includes three campgrounds along the lake’s western shore. On one of western Nevada’s notable desert lakes, it has remained focused on simple shoreline recreation and camping rather than heavily developed park amenities.
