Morris-Fisher Stack
Industry
Constructed around 1902 by the Morris-Fisher Co., this stack belonged to what was then the largest commercial fish processing plant in the United States. After years of weathering and extensive lightning damage, it was restored in 2011 under the leadership of Blaine Altaffer and Monty Deihl with the efforts of many concerned citizens and the support of families, friends, and businesses. Today, the 130 foot stack stands as a navigational aid, a welcome to those who ply these waters, and an enduring tribute to working watermen past and present.
