Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve is a 204-acre protected landscape in Northumberland County, Virginia, combining tidal and non-tidal wetlands, undeveloped beaches, dunes, and upland forests in a compact coastal setting. It is especially important for wildlife, supporting the northeastern beach tiger beetle and other rare invertebrates while also serving as a staging area for migrating birds. To reduce disturbance to shorebirds and other sensitive species, parts of the shoreline are seasonally restricted. Owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, the preserve is open to the public with trails, a boardwalk, a viewing platform, parking, and educational signs for low-impact access.
