Don Hoyt held his first trail ride in 1951 and, through tireless effort and great vision, from the 1950's through the 1990's pioneered the development of many trails and trail riding in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He was also instrumental in the development of the Cedar Lake Equestrian Camp, and his vast and extraordinary contributions to trail riding in the Ouachita National Forest, Oklahoma, and beyond were widely recognized.
