Established in December 1829, this cemetery predates Waynetown, then called Middletown, which was established in July 1830, and its last burial took place in 1908. William Bratton, the only member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804 to 1806 to be buried in Indiana, is buried here. It is also the final resting place of veterans of the War of 1812, the Mexican War, and the Civil War.
