Ptarmigan Falls
Nature
Ptarmigan Falls is a waterfall in Glacier National Park’s Many Glacier area in Montana, reached by hiking west on the Ptarmigan Trail from the Swiftcurrent Auto Camp Historic District along Ptarmigan Creek. Instead of a single vertical drop, it descends through the valley in a series of cascades, including at least one fall of more than 30 feet. Its significance lies not only in the waterfall itself but in its setting, as visitors encounter it as part of a hike through one of Glacier’s best-known mountain landscapes.
