Worlds End State Park is a 780-acre mountain park in Pennsylvania’s Loyalsock Creek valley, known for its rugged setting in the Endless Mountains and for an unsettled name whose origin has been debated since at least 1872. The valley had long been home to Native peoples before Euro-American settlement and 19th-century logging transformed the region. After severe clearcutting and damage, the state began acquiring land in 1929, and the park was established in 1932. From 1933 to 1941, the Civilian Conservation Corps shaped much of its enduring character by building roads, trails, cabins, overlooks, and a swimming area. Today it is prized for historic CCC structures, wildlife, geology, and year-round recreation.
