Shriner Peak is a 5,834-foot summit in Mount Rainier National Park, part of Washington’s Cascade Range, south of Cayuse Pass and near Seymour Peak and Double Peak. Water from its slopes drains into tributaries of the Cowlitz River. The peak is especially known for the four-mile trail from Highway 123 to the Shriner Peak Fire Lookout on its summit. Its surroundings reflect the wet marine west coast climate of the western Cascades, shaped by Pacific weather systems that bring heavy rain and snow, especially in winter. Summer often brings clearer views, while winter storms and dense, wet snow can make the area hazardous.
