Yakima Peak is a 6,226-foot summit on the Cascade crest in Washington, along the eastern border of Mount Rainier National Park near Chinook Pass and northwest of Tipsoo Lake. It is significant both for its prominent location beside a major pass and as a triple divide, where precipitation flows into tributaries of the White, Cowlitz, and Yakima rivers. Named for the Yakima Tribe of eastern Washington, the peak can be reached from Chinook Pass by a short scramble to a flat summit. Its open top offers broad views, including Mount Rainier and Naches Peak, in a region shaped by heavy winter snow and clearer summers.
