Pfeifferhorn
Nature
Pfeifferhorn is an 11,326-foot peak in the Wasatch Range of northern Utah, in the isolated Lone Peak Wilderness, where its sharply triangular shape has earned it the nickname Little Matterhorn. The eighth-highest summit in the range, it can be reached on foot but demands steep, rugged travel rather than an easy hike. Popular approaches climb from Little Cottonwood Canyon by way of the Red Pine lakes or from Maybird Gulch past small alpine lakes and granite talus. The mountain is also noted for technical climbing on its north ridge and for challenging winter mountaineering, making it a prominent objective for experienced hikers and climbers.
