Men and women from Windsor Locks served in the armed forces of the United States of America during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953. The town of Windsor Locks and the Veterans Memorial Committee erected this tribute in May 1976, bearing the inscription at top right, “Who Dare To Love Their Country And Be Poor Pope.”
