Lake Mountain Lookout Complex is a historic fire lookout in Arizona, about 20 miles east of Lakeside, overlooking part of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. Built in 1926 by the Aermotor Windmill Company, the 49-foot tower stands on Lake Mountain at an elevation of 8,250 feet as part of the region’s forest fire detection system. A forest ranger from the nearby Los Burros Ranger Station rode to the lookout each day to staff this remote post, connecting it to the broader effort to protect the forest.
