White Lake State Park
Nature
White Lake State Park in Tamworth, New Hampshire, is a 902.7-acre public recreation area centered on the 125-acre White Lake, a typical glacial lake. Open year-round, it offers swimming, hiking, non-motorized boating, picnicking, trout fishing, winter sports, day use, group outings, and seasonal camping. A notable natural feature is its 72-acre stand of pitch pine, designated a National Natural Landmark in 1980. A walking trail reaches this pine stand and passes a series of kettle bogs, both of which reflect the glacial landscape that shaped the area and help make the park significant.
