North Arapaho Peak, a 13,508-foot mountain in Colorado’s Indian Peaks Wilderness, is the highest summit in the Indian Peaks of the northern Front Range. On the Continental Divide west-southwest of Ward, it also marks boundaries between national forests and counties. The peak is closely tied to South Arapaho Peak, with Arapaho Glacier lying between them on the east slope, a rare feature owned by the City of Boulder as part of its water supply. Their narrow ridge and nearby Arapaho Pass shape access through this high alpine landscape, where year-round precipitation, winter snow, summer thunderstorms, and late-summer monsoon weather strongly influence travel and help sustain the glacier.
