Arikaree Glacier
Nature
Arikaree Glacier is a small alpine glacier in Colorado, nestled in a cirque within Roosevelt National Forest in the high Front Range. It lies north of Arikaree Peak and south of Navajo Peak, just east of the Continental Divide and about 1 mile south of Isabelle Glacier. Sheltered by steep mountain walls, it preserves lingering ice in a protected basin between prominent summits in the Indian Peaks area. Its importance is chiefly geographic, as it is one of the few named glaciers in this part of Colorado.
