George Wyth Memorial State Park is a public recreation area on the Cedar River in Black Hawk County, northeastern Iowa, near Cedar Falls and Waterloo. Dedicated in 1940 as Josh Higgins Parkway, it was later renamed for Cedar Falls businessman George Wyth. The park combines riverfront and lakeside settings close to the Cedar Valley’s urban area, making it a popular destination for outdoor recreation. Its four lakes—Brinker, George Wyth, Fisher, and Alice Wyth—support fishing and boating, while more than 10 miles of paved and unpaved trails provide hiking and biking. Camping and access to both the river and lakes make it well suited for day trips and longer stays.
