Lost Wilson Mountain
Nature
Lost Wilson Mountain is a 6,762-foot summit in northern Arizona, about four miles north of Sedona in the Red Rock–Secret Mountain Wilderness on land managed by Coconino National Forest. Though its summit lies in Yavapai County, the mountain extends east into Coconino County. It is notable for steep local relief, rising 1,760 feet above Sterling Canyon in 0.6 mile, with runoff draining to the Oak Creek watershed. The peak is the third highest in the wilderness, and its nearest higher neighbor is Wilson Mountain to the southeast. Its temperate semi-arid climate includes late-summer monsoon rains and lightning.
