Veterans Memorial Park honors veterans from Garfield Township who gave their lives to preserve world peace and protect American freedom, and it was dedicated on Memorial Day in 1985. Those remembered there are Charles C. Anthony, USAF, 1944; Fredrick L. Thatcher, USAAF, 1944; Anthony A. Anthony, USMC, 1945; Russell E. Fultz, USA, 1945; William T. Magee, USA, 1950; and David R. Bousum, USMC, 1983. The park was founded by Oscar Jones in 1958.
