The Stable
History
The Stable was built for the Shakers' horses in 1835. The horses pulled wagons, carriages, and a variety of agricultural cultivating equipment such as plows. This structure housed a three-bay stable with wagon doors and gable ends with hay lofts over the horse stalls for easy feeding. A Wagon Shed was attached to the south side of the Stable. A windmill and well for the livestock and a grain barn were all located northeast of the Stable.
