Krag Peak is a double-summit mountain in northeastern Oregon’s southern Wallowa Mountains, within the Eagle Cap Wilderness and on Wallowa–Whitman National Forest land. Its higher summit reaches 9,079 feet, with a slightly lower northwest summit at 9,048 feet. By elevation it ranks as Oregon’s 42nd-highest mountain and Baker County’s third-highest, and by a 500-foot prominence standard it is tied for 27th in the state. The mountain rises sharply, climbing nearly 4,500 feet above East Fork Eagle Creek in about a mile. Its runoff drains west to East Fork Eagle Creek and east toward the Imnaha River by way of Cliff Creek, in a subarctic climate of severe winters and mild summers.
