Eagle Cap
Nature
Eagle Cap is a 9,577-foot mountain in northeastern Oregon’s Wallowa Mountains, within the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and the Eagle Cap Wilderness. The highest point in Union County, it rises above Mirror Lake, with the Benson Glacier along the east flank of its summit ridge. Its height and prominent position make it one of the defining summits of this rugged part of the Wallowas, and the surrounding wilderness area takes its name from the peak and the landscape it anchors.
