Vestal Peak is a 13,870-foot mountain in the Needle Mountains of southwestern Colorado, southeast of Silverton in the remote Weminuche Wilderness. It is one of the notable summits of the dramatic Needle Mountains, a subrange of the San Juan Mountains. Its rugged high-country setting and location within designated wilderness give it a strongly isolated character. The mountain is known chiefly as a high alpine peak rather than as a developed destination, making its significance lie in its striking natural setting and prominence within this remote mountain landscape.
