William B. Wilson, the first secretary of labor from 1913 to 1921, was also a Congressman and labor leader who spent the greater part of his life here. Born in Scotland in 1862, he worked in the Arnot mines and rose to prominence as a labor statesman. His home is opposite. He died in 1934.
