Nature
Cornell Mountain is a Catskills summit in Shandaken, New York, within the Burroughs Range and the Slide Mountain Wilderness of Catskill State Park. Set between Wittenberg and Friday mountains, near Slide Mountain, it is traversed by the Burroughs Range Trail and the Long Path long-distance route. Rising above 3,500 feet, Cornell is one of the peaks required for membership in the Catskill Mountain 3500 Club. Its slopes are also significant for drainage, feeding streams that connect the mountain to both the Hudson River and Delaware River systems through Woodland Creek, Esopus Creek, Bush Kill, and the east branch of the Neversink River.
