Nature
Table Mountain stands in Ulster County, New York, within the Catskill Mountains and the Slide Mountain Wilderness of Catskill State Park. Bordered by Peekamoose Mountain to the south and Lone Mountain to the northeast, it is notable for sending water into two major river systems. Its eastern and southern slopes drain through Rondout Creek to the Hudson River and New York Bay, while its western and northern slopes flow by way of tributaries to the East Branch of the Neversink River, then the Delaware River and Delaware Bay. The mountain is also crossed by the Long Path, placing it along a well-known backpacking corridor in the central Catskills.
