A covered bridge known as the Thomas J. Malone Bridge stood in the 1870s over Middle Run on State Route 154 between Lisbon and Elkton in Elkrun Township. The Elkrun Township Trustees later converted it to a storage shed and moved it twice. Mr. Malone, a covered bridge researcher, found the structure along Pine Hollow Road and recognized it as a covered bridge, and restoration was completed in 1971. Gaston's Mill, built in 1830 by Samuel Conkle, was owned and operated by eight men, chief among them Philander Gaston, and its last operator was Levi Hickman. The mill was powered first by water and later by steam and gas engines, and operations ended in the late 1920s.
