The Piedmont & Northern Railway Greer Depot was designed by architect Charles Christian Hook of Charlotte, North Carolina, as a combined freight and passenger depot. Built in 1913 by James Buchanan Duke, it was one of five two-story depots on South Carolina's only electric freight and interurban railroad. It is the last surviving example of the railroad's two-story depots featuring Mediterranean Revival architecture with Spanish influences.
