Diamond Peak
Nature
Diamond Peak is a 13,133-foot mountain on California’s Sierra Crest along the Fresno-Inyo county line in the Sierra Nevada. Rising on the divide between the range’s western and eastern slopes, it occupies part of one of the central high ridgelines of the Sierra. Its west side lies in Kings Canyon National Park at the headwaters of Woods Creek, while its east side is within Inyo National Forest. That split between a national park and a national forest highlights the mountain’s position on a major watershed and administrative boundary in the range.
