Otter Falls is a waterfall on the southern wall of Mount Anderson in Washington, created by Otter Creek, a tributary of the Taylor River. Also called Otter Slide, Otter Slide Falls, or Otter Creek Falls, it descends about 1,600 feet in total, although only about one-third of that drop is visible from the ground because of the mountain’s moderate slope. Otter Creek runs roughly 1 mile from Mount Anderson, with about half of that distance occupied by the falls. The creek’s small, mostly granite drainage basin retains little water, so the waterfall relies on snowmelt and often dries up by July.
