Bement Covered Bridge
Bradford, New Hampshire
Science & Tech
Bement Covered Bridge in Bradford, New Hampshire, carries Center Road over the Warner River and is a rare surviving 19th-century covered bridge in the state. Built in 1854, it is the third known bridge at this site and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The bridge is a single-span Long-truss structure associated with Stephen Long, though no documentary evidence confirms his involvement in its construction. Named for local resident Samuel Bement, it has undergone several repairs and restorations, most recently a major rehabilitation in 2020–21, and remains an important part of New Hampshire’s covered-bridge heritage.
