Donna Reed, born Donnabelle Mullenger on January 27, 1921, was the oldest of William and Hazel Mullenger's five children and grew up on this farm. In 1938 she moved to Los Angeles to attend college. By 1954 she had won the Academy Award for her performance in the acclaimed film "From Here to Eternity." From 1958-1966 she co-produced and starred in her own television series, The Donna Reed Show. After her death in 1986, family and friends established The Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts in her memory at the theater center in Denison.
