Samuel Comstock, who lived from 1739 to 1824, served as a private in the French and Indian War and as a captain in the Revolutionary War from July 1776 to June 1783, serving at White Plains, Germantown, Fort Mifflin, Valley Forge, Monmouth, and Yorktown. He was commissioned major on October 10, 1783. His wife was Mercy Mead, who lived from 1741 to 1816.
