A grist and sawmill stood here in 1798. Rebuilt as Duncan's Elk Mills Complex in 1871, the structure was brick cased by D. A. Musser in the 1870's. It was owned and operated by the McMullin Bros. in 1921 and closed as a grist mill in 1927.
