Silver Glacier is a small mountain glacier in Washington’s North Cascades National Park, descending northwest from near the summit of Mount Spickard. Its ice extends from about 8,700 feet to 7,200 feet, and Silver Lake lies about half a mile below its present terminus. In 1993, the glacier covered about 0.49 square kilometers. As part of the National Park Service glacier monitoring project, it was measured over time, and between 1993 and 2013 it lost about 8 meters of thickness. Its importance lies in how it helps track changing conditions among North Cascades glaciers.
