Triple Divide Peak
Nature
Triple Divide Peak is a 12,640-foot mountain in California’s Sierra Nevada on the Great Western Divide, at the boundary between Kings Canyon and Sequoia national parks near Kaweah Gap. It stands at a prominent junction where the Kaweah Peaks Ridge runs south and the Kings-Kaweah Divide branches west. The mountain is significant for an unusual three-way meeting of major watersheds: the Kern, Kaweah, and Kings rivers all divide here. That rare topographic role gave the peak its name. It was also once known as The Keystone.
