Kellys Slough National Wildlife Refuge is a protected wetland and grassland area in North Dakota’s Red River Valley, established in 1936 to preserve and manage habitats distinctive to the region. Encompassing 1,270 acres, it includes an intermittent stream that flows into the Turtle River, a tributary of the Red River. The refuge supports a diversity of wetland and grassland wildlife and also serves the public by offering opportunities for wildlife-dependent recreation, interpretation, and education.
