Saddleback Horn
Nature
Saddleback Horn, or The Horn, is a mountain in western Maine on the Saddleback Mountain ridge, lying between Saddleback’s main summit and Saddleback Junior, with Potato Nubble nearby. Its slopes drain into several branches of the Kennebec River watershed, with runoff flowing by different streams toward the Dead River, Saddleback Lake, and the Sandy River before ultimately reaching the Gulf of Maine. The peak is especially notable because the Appalachian Trail follows the Saddleback ridge and crosses its summit, making it both a prominent landmark in the Saddleback range and a recognized point along one of the United States' best-known long-distance footpaths.
