Lower South Falls is a waterfall in Oregon’s Silver Falls State Park, near the east end of Salem, where the west foothills of Mount Hood National Forest meet the Middle Santiam Wilderness. Formed by South Silver Creek, it stands on the west section of the Trail of Ten Falls along Canyon Trail, about a mile north of South Falls. The waterfall is one of a cluster of notable cascades that define the park and one of only four there where visitors can walk behind the curtain of water, making it among the route’s most distinctive features.
