Jaynes Covered Bridge in Waterville, Vermont, carries Codding Hollow Road over the North Branch Lamoille River and dates to about 1877. It is one of three surviving 19th-century covered bridges in the town and part of an unusually dense cluster of five spanning the same river within five miles. The single-span queen-post truss bridge retains a typical Vermont profile with a gabled metal roof and vertical board siding. Although altered for continued use with steel I-beams and reinforced joints, it still preserves the character of a late 19th-century rural crossing and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
