Constructed in 1903, the George H. Champ House is a good example of the foursquare box type house, with a large portico that wraps around to the west façade, a hip roof with large gable dormers, upper stories clad in wood shingles, and an intact carriage house. It was originally built for George H. Champ, a local financier who came to Logan from the Midwest in 1892 and soon established the Utah Mortgage Loan Corporation. In 1903, the same year the home was built, he expanded his financial enterprise by forming the Cache Valley Banking Company. Both banking institutions were long-term successes in Cache Valley, and the house retains its architectural integrity as a significant feature of the Logan Center Street Historic District.
