White River Glacier lies in Washington’s Glacier Peak Wilderness within Wenatchee National Forest. In its upper reaches, it is close to the Honeycomb and Suiattle glaciers, separated from them by an arête descending from the Kololo Peaks. Like many mountain glaciers in the North Cascades, it has changed significantly since the end of the Little Ice Age. Since about 1850, it has retreated roughly 1,000 meters, or 3,300 feet, illustrating the long-term shrinkage that has affected alpine ice across the region.
