Cinnamon Mountain is a 13,336-foot summit in southwestern Colorado's San Juan Mountains, in San Juan County near Silverton and Animas Forks. Part of the Rocky Mountains, it stands on Bureau of Land Management land about seven miles west of the Continental Divide, with runoff flowing toward the Animas River. The peak is notable for steep relief, rising more than 2,400 feet above the river within a mile, and for its setting near Cinnamon Pass and the Alpine Loop Back Country Byway in a rugged, scenic high-country landscape. Its officially recognized name and alpine subarctic climate, with snowy winters and summer thunderstorms, define its character.
