Nature
Sugarloaf Mountain in Greene County, New York, is part of the Catskills' Devil's Path range, lying between Plateau Mountain and Twin Mountain. Within the Hudson River watershed, its slopes drain in several directions: toward Schoharie Creek and the Mohawk on the north and northeast, and toward Beaver Kill and Esopus Creek on the south and southeast, all ultimately reaching the Hudson. Located in Catskill State Park, the mountain is crossed along its summit ridge by the Devil's Path hiking trail. That stretch is also shared by the Long Path, giving Sugarloaf Mountain a recognized place in southeastern New York's hiking network.
