Above All State Park in Warren, Connecticut, is an undeveloped public recreation area valued for its high elevation, expansive views, and traces of earlier uses. Long regarded as one of Litchfield County’s best lookouts, it had a wooden observation tower before the Civil War and later inspired unbuilt resort plans in the 1880s. The park was established in 1927 through donated and purchased land and was recognized by 1934 as Connecticut’s 36th state park. From 1957 to 1968, its summit served the Semi-Automatic Ground Environment air defense network as a radar annex. Today it remains largely unmanaged, with unmaintained trails and surviving radar-era structures.
