In 1826 this two-story brick home was built beside an Indian trail. Its builder, Major William Thornton Timberlake, in War of 1812, helped to develop toll road which became Dixie Highway. It was the home of his son-in-law, Dr. John H. Stevenson, the first to practice medicine in Boone and Kenton counties. Five generations of Timberlakes, Stevensons, and Taylors have lived in this house.
