The Louis Fredrick House in Barrington Hills, Illinois, is a private residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1957 for interior designer Louis Fredrick. It exemplifies Wright’s late residential work, when he adapted Usonian ideas into larger homes for wealthy clients. Its brick exterior, long horizontal window bands, low cedar-shake roof, and prominent chimney express the broad, grounded character of his mature style. Fredrick helped shape the final design by rejecting Wright’s initial concrete-block plan and influencing details such as color. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016, the house was later restored, with geothermal systems and originally intended furniture completed by 2018.
