American Airlines Flight 11, a Boeing 767, took off at 7:59 a.m. from Boston's Logan International Airport en route to Los Angeles with 92 people on board. At 8:46 a.m., it crashed into the North Tower of New York City's World Trade Center between floors 93 and 99, killing all on board. At 10:28 a.m., the North Tower collapsed. Part of the 91st floor of that tower stands as a tribute to all who died that day and as a symbol of resolve to rebuild, while remembering the victims and heroes who sacrificed to save countless others and those who continue to serve in the fire service, law enforcement, and the armed forces.
