The Pilot Range is a fifteen-mile mountain ridge in New Hampshire’s White Mountains that runs generally southeast to northwest. Its best-known and highest peak is Mount Cabot, rising to 4,160 feet. The range’s main summits, from northeast to southwest, are Hutchins Mountain, Mount Cabot, The Bulge, The Horn, and Terrace Mountain. Mount Cabot’s inclusion on the Appalachian Mountain Club’s list of New Hampshire four-thousand-footers gives the range a notable place in the state’s peak-bagging tradition. The range is also associated with York Pond, below Unknown Pond Peak, and remains part of the larger mountain landscape of northern New Hampshire.
